Communications Intern

Role Overview: As a Communications Intern at ICE Mentors, you will play a key role in supporting our communication strategies and enhancing our outreach efforts. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation:

    • Assist in writing and editing content for social media, and newsletters.
    • Support the production of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, to enhance our storytelling.
  2. Social Media Management:

    • Help manage and update ICE Mentors’ social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
    • Monitor social media trends and suggest innovative ideas to improve our online presence.
    • Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and build our online community.
  3. Newsletter Development:

    • Assist in the creation and distribution of monthly newsletters to keep our supporters and stakeholders informed about our activities and achievements.
    • Collect and organize content for newsletters, ensuring a mix of informative and engaging material.
  4. Campaign Support:

    • Assist in the planning and execution of communication campaigns to promote ICE Mentors’ programs and events.
    • Track and report on campaign performance metrics, providing insights for future strategies.
    • Support event promotion and coverage, including live social media updates.
  5. Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct research on industry trends, audience preferences, and best practices in nonprofit communications.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and basic knowledge of social media management tools.
  • Familiarity with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
